• 1996, The ninth UGC-CEC Annual Video Competition became a national competition
• 2000, January, 26th, 'Gyan Darshan', a dedicated educational channel started; CWCR shared time with IGNOU and NCERT
• 2004, January, 26th, ' Vyas' (GD4) a dedicated 24 hours higher education channel started
• 2004, August, EMMRCs were given a new name that is Educational Multimedia Research Centre
• 2005, September, 5th, Interactive video lectures commenced
• 2005, October 17th, EMMRC Ahmedabad got an opportunity to telecast for EDUSAT Higher Education Network, which is first interactive educational lecture from other than main Sub-hub.

• 2006, 27 LORs were created during a workshop on E-Content for 25 lectures from various colleges in Ahmedabad at EMMRC.
• 2008, May, First E-Content as a Pilot Project was created titled 'Story inside the shell' produced by Mr. Ashok Mewada
• 2009, March, 20, 'Vyas Higher Education Channel started of CEC on DD Direct Plus, the DTH bouquet of Doordarshan.

 

Recent Development

 

•Orientation and training of content providers in the electronic communication as well as technical personnel and producers in the latest technology and production know how.

 

• Developing multi-media communication, wherein films, text and animation are merged to create a real time teaching and learning in various subjects by the students at their pace and place. This also provides the facilities of on line testing of attainment by the students, in other words virtual university.

 

• Started Add-on Short term e-Scripting Course: An e-Course on Script Writing for Films and Television

• Providing Interactive Classroom Facility to the Students and Teachers of Higher Education
